Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 goals in European competition when he netted a brace against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Portugal captain Ronaldo came into the game on 98 European goals, with the most recent of them coming in the 2-2 draw at Dortmund in September — having failed to net in the 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw, the 3-3 draw in the return leg, the 2-1 win at former club Sporting Lisbon, 2-2 draw against Dortmund in December, or the 6-2 aggregate win over Napoli in the round of 16.
